The Maui Farm, Inc. is a community-based nonprofit organization providing farm-based, family-centered programs that teach essential life skills for self-sufficient living. The Maui Farm is located in Makawao, Maui, Hawai‘i on an 8.3 acre property leased from the County of Maui for fifty-five years for $1.00 per year. Our campus consists of four (4) large five-bedroom family homes, an administrative office, a two-acre educational farm with outdoor classroom areas for hands-on activities, and areas for recreation and play.
We provide residential programs including the Family Strengthening Program serving families who are homeless due to domestic violence and other economic challenges, and the Independent Living Program serving females ages 17–22 who are transitioning from the state’s child welfare or juvenile justice systems and are at-risk of homelessness.
The Maui Farm also provides Farm-based Educational Programs serving members of our community who do not live at The Maui Farm. These programs provide educational opportunities that offer hands-on activities and positive experiences with people, plants and animals.
